TranquiliTea Scarf Kits

As Elizabeth Zimmerman famously said, “Properly practiced, knitting soothes the troubled spirit, and it doesn’t hurt the untroubled spirit either.” We are delighted to be offering our TranquilTea Knit Kits to sooth us through these troubled times, and on into less troubled times, too.

Each TranquilTea Scarf Kit includes your pattern of choice, a 200g cake of our own custom Tempestry yarn, and a sample of tea (enough for 5-6 cups). Also one of our Needle Wranglers, designed by us and made in Bellingham, WA.

Patterns:

At the Market Scarf, shown in Typhoon, is just knits and purls in a simple repeating sequence that creates a beautifully textured and completely reversible cowl. Appropriate for beginning knitters who are ready for the next step. Also meditatively simple for more advanced knitters. 

In the Library Scarf, shown in Downpour, is also just knits and purls but is a bit more involved and comes with both written and charted instructions. Appropriate for the advanced beginner and beyond.

Yarn: Tempestry Worsted is 100% US-sourced wool, milled & dyed in Pennsylvania. Choose your color from amongst the 100g Cake options and leave a note in the comment field when ordering to let us know your choice.

Teas, Caffeinated:

1. Earl Gray Moonlight combines a classic citrusy Earl Gray with a hint of vanilla & cream.
2. Puerh Hazelberry is our current personal favorite! We discovered puerh teas at a tea room last year and have been a little obsessed with them ever since. Puerh teas are aged and fermented and never go bitter, even if you leave a teapot half full and pour it over ice the next day — seriously! This particular puerh tea has a touch of hazelnut and a subtle hint of strawberry.
3. Raja oolong chai is a delicious blend of cinnamon, ginger, cocoa, and more. Perfect with a splash of milk and a dash of honey.

Teas, Herbal:

1. Cha Cha is a soothingly light blend of chamomile, peppermint, and lemongrass.
2. Classic peppermint. Enough said!

Tea samples come from Adagio Teas, whom we discovered by way of a friend awhile back and really love.

All our work is done in a smoke-free but cat-friendly home. While this particular cat is not prone to playing with yarn, her hair (as any pet owner knows) does occasionally stray.
