Temperature Scarf/Blanket Starter Bundle

Are you or someone you know thinking about doing a temperature scarf or temperature blanket over the coming year? Tempestry Yarn is the only yarn on the market specifically designed with this sort of work in mind! Our yarn is 100% US-sourced worsted-weight wool, custom milled & dyed for us in Pennsylvania. By using Tempestry Yarn for your temperature projects, your work is part of an ever-growing fiber-art mosaic of our planet’s changing climate.

Temperature Knit/Crochet Starter Bundles do not come with a pattern (let your imagine run free!) but do include sixteen Tempestry Yarn cakes in the following colors, representing temperatures ranging from 16°F to 95°F:  Squall, Waterspout, Tarn, Thaw, Evergreen, Algae, Moss, Fern, Dawn, Aspen, Marigold, Coral, Sunspot, Watermelon, Rosewood, and Heatwave.

Live in a colder or hotter area? Add the Winter Add-on (Frost, Downpour) or Summer Add-on (Cinnabar, Heatwave) to extend your project 10 degrees in either direction. If you live in a more extreme area and need even hotter or colder colors, please see our Original Tempestry Colors section to add to your order.

Choose either 25g/55yd balls (the default, great for scarves and smaller projects) or the 50g add-on for a bigger project.  The 25g option totals 400g/880yds  and the 50g option totals 800g/1760yds. Please note that you may use up all of some colors (more can be ordered down the road here, if needed), and not use any of others. Either way, you will have fun odds and ends for color work hats and such from your starter bundle.

Temperature Starter Bundles also include an Original Color Card showing the full color/temperature range, and come packed in reusable organza project bags.

Please note that the Temperature Knit/Crochet Starter Bundles do NOT come with data, but are meant to be used through the coming year using your own daily temperature recordings.

Knitting Tempestries (or a temperature scarf or temperature blanket) can be a cathartic process, and following the current year as it unfolds can be a wonderful daily mindfulness activity.
