Tarn (26°F – 30°F)

Tempestry Worsted is 100% US-sourced worsted-weight wool, and is custom milled and dyed in Pennsylvania exclusively for the Tempestry Project. This is a sturdy, strong yarn perfect for Tempestries, of course — but also for warm sweaters, blankets, hats, scarves, and even semi-fancy-wear (see note below about the samples). It is not a superwash yarn.

100g is approximately 220 yards. Gauge is approximately 18-20 stitches per 4″ on US7-8 (4.5-5mm) needles. Please choose your desired amount in the drop-down menu before adding to your shopping cart.

Sample cowl used 70g; sample shawls used 185g (on mannequin) and 225g (on our dear friend Amanda, whose toddler generally prevents her from wearing fancy things and who was absolutely delighted with this fancy-but-sturdy shawl that can stand up to grabby toddler fingers!).

All our work is done in a smoke-free but cat-friendly home. While this particular cat is not prone to playing with yarn, her hair (as any pet owner knows) does occasionally stray.
