It’s going to be a busy weekend: 2am shuttle to Sea-Tac tomorrow morning, 7am flight to JFK, and then four days of sinking in to the chaotic delicious exhausting pleasure that will be our time in New York City.
We are so excited to be participating in this year’s Creative Climate Awards exhibit, and are looking forward to meeting some of you at the Night At the Library Party Friday the 14th and at the Opening Reception on Monday the 17th.
The Creative Climate Awards are an annual series of events hosted by the Human Impacts Institute and focusing on fostering new forms of dialogue in engaging the public about climate change. We’re thrilled to be bringing our collaborative and immensely interactive project to the table, especially knowing that hundreds of knitters and crocheters around the world are participating in and excited about the project right along with us.
We are so very grateful for the outpouring of support that has enabled us to attend the events along with our Utqiagvik, Alaska Tempestry Trio. Our fundraiser for the trip was immensely successful, and we have just been blown away by the kindness and generosity of our friends, families, and the local and larger fiber and environmental community. Just this past Saturday, at the Anacortes Climate gathering, a complete stranger shoved money into our hands. . We thanked him and tried to return it, explaining that we’d already reached our fundraising goals. He said, “Please take it anyway. New York is expensive, and we’re so glad you’re going.”
We’re going, and we’ll be carrying all of you with us. Thank you.
