We have a number of leftover New Normal Tempestry Kits from our weekends at the New York State Sheep & Wool Festival. We would like to donate these kits to knitters who have a place to display them publicly: your government representatives’ offices if you have those sorts of connections (both state and federal), town & city halls, public libraries, elementary schools / high schools / colleges, your favorite restaurants and shops, anywhere they will be seen and spark climate conversations.
If you are interested in making one of these pieces and have a place in mind for displaying it, please email us at TempestryProject@gmail.com! We have numerous Global New Normal kits, some United States kits, and a small selection of individual state kits. These are all slightly outdated kits, ending with data and yarn for 2022, but the visual image is clear. For reference, see the second photo below.
If you are able to help offset material or shipping costs, please reach out. We can accept donations via our ongoing Go Fund Me, or directly via PayPal to this email address. Thank you for supporting climate conversations around the country!
Shown: Global New Normal Tempestry, 1895 (at the bottom) through 2020 at the top. The darker the blue, the colder than average the year and the darker the red, the warmer than average the year.
